SPEND SPRING BREAK IN SAN DIEGO AT THESE AREA ATTRACTIONS

Thanks to San Diego’s idyllic location, you don’t have to go far to have a spectacular spring break with your family! Check out our list for a reminder about the amazing attractions in America’s Finest City. We’ve also included some of the spring events happening in our fair city. San Diego Area Attractions for Spring Break Staycation

Belmont Park – This historic beachfront amusement park offers enjoyment for every age and mood. Ride a roller coaster, play mini golf, or stroll the boardwalk. Admission and parking are free, so you can do as much or as little as you please.

Birch Aquarium – Whether you’re interested in marine life or not, a visit to La Jolla’s Birch Aquarium at Scripps is worth the trip. The public exploration center for the world-renowned Scripps Institution of Oceanography at UC San Diego houses more than 60 habitats, including thrilling interactive exhibits.

Knott’s Berry Farm – America’s first theme park, this historic Boysenberry farm is sure to shake up your spring. Enjoy oller coasters, water rides, activities for the kids, and vintage California charm. You can catch the Boysenberry Festival March 29 to April 28 featuring over 75 unique boysenberry-inspired dishes, drink, and more.

LEGOLAND – A must-do for families with young children, the resort’s Water Park opens March 16. It also celebrates its 20th birthday March 20. And, LEGOLAND premieres its new LEGO City 4D – Officer in Pursuit movie in April.

San Diego Zoo – Our world-class zoo has a well-earned top spot among tourist destinations in San Diego. Visit the website to discover what new baby animals have appeared this spring. On April 6-21, check out Yaycation for a schedule of family-fun activities.

San Diego Zoo Safari Park – A fabulous extension of the zoo, springtime is your chance to flit through the park’s annual Butterfly Jungle. The Escondido park is open 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., March 23 to May 12, while thousands of butterflies greet you in the aviary.

SeaWorld San Diego – This park offers so much to see and do in a day – or two! Visit on the weekend, March 9 to April 28, for the Seven Seas Craft Beer & Food Festival featuring fresh international cuisine and a whale-sized load of craft beer and wine tastings.

USS Midway Museum – You are missing out if you’ve never experienced a guided tour aboard this historic aircraft carrier! They offer special member events throughout the year, so check out their membership page to join the family.
