The 10 Best Summer Festivals in San Diego

We’ve updated our list of the best festivals happening this summer in San Diego! Food and music, arts and culture, pets and pals – there’s something on this top ten list to keep you celebrating our city all summer long. Be sure to get tickets beforehand when applicable.

39th Annual OB Street Fair & Chili Cook-off – (June 23) Thousands of festival-goers will descend on OB for this free event featuring live music, art, a beer garden, a kids’ zone, chili cook-off, and more!

Imperial Beach’s Sun & Sea Festival – (July 14) A San Diego classic, you won’t want to miss the amazing productions of world-class sand sculptors plus a pancake breakfast, parade, and more.

Oceanside International Film Festival – (Aug. 1-5) Film buffs head to Oceanside for five days of features, shorts, animation, documentaries and student work as well as workshops and after-parties.

Adams Avenue Street Fair – (Sept. 29-30) Though technically a week into fall, we can’t leave out SoCal’s largest free music festival featuring 80 musical acts, a beer garden, carnival rides, festival fare, and exhibits.

Cardiff Dog Days of Summer – (Aug. 12) We’ve been in “puppy love” with this free event for 13 years now. Get your tail down to Encinitas Community Park for more than 200 dog-related vendors and rescue groups as well as pet adoptions, dog contests, live music, kids’ activities, beer and wine garden, food trucks, and more!

San Diego Bacon Fest – (Sept. 1) What are you doing for International Bacon Day? Our answer: gorging on amazing bacon-centric food from dozens of vendors alongside craft beer cocktails at NTC Park’s Preble Field.

Stone 22nd Anniversary & Invitational Beer Festival – (Aug. 18) SoCal’s largest beer festival will feature over 55 craft breweries from around the world, including our own Stone Brewing. Ticket proceeds go to charity.

10th Annual San Diego Spirits Festival – (Aug. 25-26) Why should craft beers get all love? There will be plenty of craft cocktails to enjoy at the Port Pavilion on Broadway Pier, as well as food and entertainment.

Kaboo Del Mar – (Sept. 14-16) This three-day live music festival offers world-class music, hilarious comedy, inspiring contemporary art, gourmet cuisine, craft libations and personal indulgences.

San Diego LGBT Pride Parade and Festival – (July 13-15) This annual parade is among the largest of its kind in the country and includes a rally on Friday, 5k and Women’s Pride Brunch before the parade on Saturday, and a fabulous festival featuring 100 entertainers plus vendors and exhibits on Saturday and Sunday.
